Having a great travel guide books to Austria and other countries along during your trip can greatly increase your enjoyment. For the small price of a book you will know which restaurants you should visit to experience the country best and at what cost.
You can also learn what attractions are worth the price of admission during your short visit and which ones are a waste of time. Guide books are not all created equal with some updated frequently and providing good solid advice. In particular I like Rick Steve’s guides due to great advice. I happened to meet him once in Rothenburg, Germany when we were both on a walking tour so I know he does check on some of the details personally.
